Poverty remains world’s greatest problem. Consequently, concerted efforts to reduce vulnerability to malaria, typhoid, diarrhea, tuberculosis and avoidable communicable diseases, is imperative in order to accomplish the millennium development goals.
Makoko, Zion and Sari-Iganmu communities of lagos are poverty personified.
Burdened by plights, threats and vulnerability of many people to chronic poverty (absolute), 5loaves 2fishes, a non-governmental organization registered in 2008, is committed towards human palliatives, dedicated Medicare, weekly primary health care support, advocacy drive and concerted efforts to acquire mobile clinic vehicles to increase well being, engenders productivity level and drastically reduce poverty.

In continuation of its yearly programme to mark the Easter holidays, a Lagos-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), 5 Loaves 2 Fishes, at the weekend, brought smiles to the faces of thousands of residents of Makoko, Yaba, with its programme of 'feed the poor, cloth the naked and medical care' for thousands of residents.
According to the General Overseer of the Fountain of Truth Assembly (FOTA), Rev. Yomi Kasali, whose ministry also runs 5 Loaves 2 Fishes, the NGO had been undertaking outreaches since December 2006 when it brought succour to the residents of Sari-Iganmu and at Makoko in April 2007 and March 2008, while Olaleye and Zion communities had their turns in June 2008 and April 2009 respectively.
